“worst music ever made.”
as a comment on one of my videos (making music).
*sigh* What is wrong with people? In this particular case I don’t mind much. I didn’t really like the video much myself (clearing marked as just “fooling around”). Despite this it is one of my most viewed and has nearly all positive comments.
But what’s the point of the mean comments? Seems to just add a little bit of hate into the world. Puts a small ding in my day – time thinking about it, replying, posting a blog post about it. And if I would let the comment stand might depress (slightly) a few other viewers as to the meanness of others.
Originally I was just going to approve the comment (it was under moderation). When I let bad comments stand they actually inspire more good comments and I’m, in general, fine with all opinion expressed. But today I removed it and wrote a little note on manners to the sender. I intended to paste it into this post but have since lost it in my paste and browsing history. Oh well.
It’s odd – the person was from Australia and I’ve recently had quite a few run-ins with drunk Australians. This is a generalization but they’ve all had a unique brand of Australian drunkenness + argumentativeness to them. Interesting.
